This Summer, you can visit those in prison by participating in an online book club, reading Arrows of Light, by Bp. Steven Charleston, along with incarcerated me at Berlin State Prison.
A study group at the Berlin State Men’s Prison is reading this Charleston book in July, and individuals and parishes in our diocese are invited to be an email part of the group. Participants will be sent reflections by the prison participants and will be asked to share their own reflections in a word or a few sentences, so that a dialogue between our diocese and incarcerated individuals can begin. Each week a selection or so from Charleston’s book will be sent for shared reflections.
Ground rule--Each participant should choose a ‘Spirit name’ - not their own, by which to be identified.
Ground rule--please use the email address firstname.lastname@example.org, with the subject heading ARROW, for thoughts to be shared. Each week, The Rev. Rosalie Richards will compile these thoughts and share with the gentlemen, and will do the same with their thoughts and responses so that church participants learn that part of the dialogue.
This is open to both individuals and parishes.
This is the link to ordering the books which are $15 each (plus tax, and also s/h). http://www.redmoonpublications.com/red-moon-publications-book-charleston-arrows2014.html . If anyone prefers an e-book can order through Amazon.
