A training for Family Promise of Greater Concord members will take place at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Hopkinton, NH on January 30, from 1 pm - 3:30 pm.
This is a workshop especially designed for volunteers in Family Promise of Greater Concord who would like an opportunity to explore the complexities, challenges and joys of working with homeless families in transition. Through presentations, small group work and review of case studies, the goals for this workshop are three-fold:
I. To clarify the scope, purpose and progress of Family Promise, Concord
II. Look at the difference between expectation and reality: How our basic assumptions and paradigms are challenged in our work with the homeless.
III. Practical information and skills to understand and respond to guests with clarity, compassion and appropriate boundaries
Facilitators for this workshop include Ms. Jenn Haines White, Executive Director of Family Promise, Mr. Jake King, Case Manager of Family Promise, Ms. Jackie Whatmough, Human Services Director, City of Concord, Rev. Robert Anderson, Clinical Pastoral Education Supervisor and Educator now living in Concord and Rev. Canon Hannah Anderson, Canon to the Ordinary for the Episcopal Church of New Hampshire.
Expect to meet people who share your passion for this program and gain new insights and encouragement for your valued participation!
