St. John's, Portsmouth, to Start Choir School

St. John's, Portsmouth, is developing plans for a choir school that is completely free of charge and available to families who need a safe space for their kids during after-school hours.  Volunteers from St. Joh's, church musical instruments and St. John's facilities will be used to operate The Choir School four days a week after-school, offering comprehensive musical education, as well as an opportunity to be a part of a dynamic and supportive community.

All students will attend two weekly choir rehearsals, have private lessons on both piano and voice, participate in community-oriented study hall sessions, and sing in Sunday services.  In its first year, the program will admit children in grades 4-7.
